Currently, Laurent is a first year student of the Research Master 'Methodology & Statistics for the Behavioural, Biomedical and Social Sciences' at Utrecht University. Previously, he obtained his BSc. in International Relations at Leiden University (cum laude) and in 2015 Laurent was among the inaugural 96 fully-funded Yenching Scholars at Peking University, receiving an LL.M.
Laurent’s research interest has yet to focus on a specific field. For now he is just passionate about the process of doing research and problem solving itself. The wide field of topics and data he has worked on include international trade data, political youth participation in China, air pollution, quantitative mandarin text analysis, and agricultural data in developing countries.
